Group Programs For Parents, Children & Adolescents 8-17 Years of Age
AGES 8-12 & 13-17yrs. Class Type & Size: Group; 4-8 students. Boys, girls & parents.

Body Mass Index (BMI) range 25-30 or greater.

This is an "intensive lifestyle changing" 3 month program for parents, children and adolescents
with overweight conditions who have special needs related to diet, behavior and/or fitness.
Length: 1&1/2 - 2hrs, once a week for 12 consecutive weeks excluding holidays.
1 hour FREE orientation class prior to starting program. There is no quick fix to getting kids to eat healthy and stay active, but there's reason to invest the effort now. Many adult health problems start in childhood-though not recognized until much later, when it is harder to undo them. Our 3 month "Trimkids" program builds self-esteem, empowers kids and their parents with the knowledge, skills and motivation needed to make positive healthy lifestyle changes. A clinical nutrition & fitness evaluation, assessment medical/health history review, nutrition education, behavior modification, customized meal-planning, weekly weigh-in, Pre & Post measurements, a parent support/therapy group and a kids fun functional fitness workout are all part of this integrative approach that focuses on providing a lasting, positive impact on the physical and emotional health of children and adolescents. Thus, breaking the vicious cycle of inadequate exercise, inapropriate dietary habits and behavioral practices that lead to childhood weight problems.

Body Mass Index (BMI) range 20-25. Winter & Summer Sessions Only.
This program is designed to help stop the onset of overweight conditions, reduce the health risks associated with being overweight by learning how to balance food and activity levels which will help tweens and teens continue to "grow into a healthy weight range." Parent & child/adolescent nutrition education, behavior modification, self-esteem building & a fun kids functional fitness workout are all part of this wonderful program that focuses on healthy eating, getting adequate macro & micro nutrients and calories for continued growth and hormone development throughout the adolescent years.
Length : 1 & 1/2 - 2 hours, once a week for 8 consecutive weeks excluding holidays.
