Description: Good eating habits begin at an early age, and preschoolers are eager to learn! Children are taught by our pediatric dietitian and nutrition educator in a kid-friendly classroom. We teach about "body-friendly," nutrient-rich foods that will keep kids healthy for proper growth and development throughout childhood. Nutrition science principles incorporate math, science, language, and social skills techniques. For the first 30 minutes of each class, songs, stories, healthy edible snack art, "taste and try" foods, and creating recipe picture-word cards make learning fun and interactive. During the second half of the class, children participate in a Circus-style, functional fitness circuit and free-play with warm-up and cool-down exercises. This builds social skills as well as self-confidence, and it improves and enhances balance, muscle strength, gross motor skills, and hand/eye coordination.
