Description: This private, personal training and physical fitness program is perfect for adolescents who need encouragement to move more daily and adopt or continue healthy exercise habits and participate in body conditioning exercise that is not offered in school on a daily basis. Students learn how to build and tone muscles, increase lean body mass, and improve hand-eye coordination, balance, movement, cardiovascular-respiratory endurance, flexibility & agility. As a result of overall body conditioning and and increasing their physical fitness levels on a regular consistent basis, most of the Tweens in this program have attested to benefiting from any or all of the following:

Ages 9-12Type: Healthy Cooking, Food Science & Functional Fitness Training Program. One hour of functional fitness training & an hour of healthy cooking, nutrition science lab with our pediatric/adolescent registered dietitian which incorporates a hands-on student-made healthy well-balanced meal.
Length: 8 or 12 week session meet once a week for 2.0 hours

Description: A unique program that combines basic home economics principles, the art of age-appropriate simple healthy cooking, nutrition science, dining etiquette, food, and kitchen safety practices. Instead of preparing and cooking foods from "typical" written cookbook style, students here will learn how to prepare and cook foods using single foods and “food groups” to formulate their own recipes and healthy food combination's adding fresh herbs, seasonings, and flavors that they like or are willing to try. Students will have the opportunity to "pull from the pantry" and make a healthy dinner meal. They will learn, explore and understand the concepts of measuring, weighing foods, adding-up calories, age-appropriate portion control, defining, analyzing and classifying foods macro and micro nutrients that offer exceptional biological value. As well as enjoy different ethnic foods and cooking methods that are used and consumed as part of a daily healthy eating plan.
Ages 9-12Length: 8 or 12 week sessions meet 1x per week for 1.5 hours. (Consists of a 1/2 hour of nutrition education & 1 hour functional fitness training.)

Description: This interactive nutrition education workshop and functional fitness class teaches and empowers students to change unhealthy eating habits and sedentary lifestyle behaviors, so they can enjoy a nutrient-rich and active lifestyle. Students learn how to make wise food choices and add more movement to their day.

Ages 9-12 & 13-19Healthy eating, weight management & meal planning sessions meet 1x per week with a pediatric adolescent registered dietitian. Healthy lifestyle nutrition plans and goals are designed and customized for the individual. Parents & caregivers are encouraged to participate in sessions with their child/adolescent. A 1 hour initial clinical nutrition assessment/consultation visit is required. 1/2 weekly follow-up nutrition education sessions can be scheduled by appointment thereafter. Minimum enrollment is four (4) half-hour sessions.
